How art gets generated.
The Bureau of Land Management and the artist Christo are asking a federal judge to throw out a lawsuit aimed at preventing an art project that would involve suspending nearly six miles worth of silvery fabric in sections over the Arkansas River.
The Pueblo Chieftain reports Christo and the BLM say the judge shouldn’t allow the lawsuit by Rags Over the Arkansas River Inc., known as ROAR. The filings are in response to an amended lawsuit ROAR filed last month after BLM’s approval of the project was upheld by the Interior Department.
ROAR says the project would damage the environment, harm bighorn sheep in the area and jeopardize public safety due to road closures during construction.
